We are in the midst of construction. The first phase is done, except for decisions to be made regarding privacy of some information.
If you have difficulty viewing or navigating, or have questions or comments, please let us know, perhaps after looking at the section of this page on site design and testing. Visitors are our best, indeed our only beta-testers.
A Site Map outlines the contents of the site and makes for easy navigation.
A Statistics page reports site activity and other information.
A discussion of the guiding principles for the EEEHA website consists of comments on its aims, content, administration, and openness.
El Encanto Estates is a small residential neighborhood of about 150 homes in the central part of the city of Tucson, Arizona. It was founded in 1928. In 1988 the neighborhood was entered into the National Register of Historic Places, as El Encanto Estates Residential Historic District. The nomination was based on district's novel landscape and architectural planning and the historic importance of its founding homeowners.
The El Encanto page [ directory /El-Encanto/ ]:
The Homeowners Association was incorporated in 1982, after expiration of the covenants of the original development, as an Arizona non-profit corporation. The purpose of the Assocation is to promote the social welfare of El Encanto Estates and its environs and to manage association property.
If you are a resident of El Encanto and not a member of the Homeowners Association, we urge you to join us, your neighbors. Our neighborhood is relatively small, and we very much want all to participate in its activities and actions.
Any member of the Association is welcome at a meeting of the Board of Directors.
The Association page [ directory /EEEHA/ ]:
There is a trial directory (a few names serving for a test only). The database is secured by authentication of a user through requiring a login name and password. We hope to extend this to include the full list of neighbors.
The Membership page [ directory /Membership/ ]:
A variety of interesting and occasionally significant people have inhabited El Encanto. We want to make available biographical sketches of current and past residents, selected perhaps only according to time and opportunity. For an easy start, we note that many early residents who were leaders of Tucson and the State, have biographies included in the Nomination to the National Register of Historic Places.
The People page [ directory /People/ ]:
We hope to have a collection of photographs of El Encanto residents and places, past and present.
The Gallery page [ directory /Photos/ ]:
El Encanto, through its Homeowners Association, does not provide services. But we do provide a goodly number of links.
The Services And Resources page [ directory /Services/ ]:
This page will grow with future postings of newsworthy events and of other contributions of possible general interest -- our miscellany page.
The News and Events page [ directory /News/ ]:
The Design and Testing page [ directory /Test/ ]:
This page, since much modified and expanded, was the first written for this site, to display to the Board possible designs and to comment on the designs and on prospective content.
